First launched in 1999, the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit (BPLRT) system has long served as a vital connector for residents in northwestern Singapore. After two decades of operation, aging infrastructure began to affect service performance and reliability. To revitalize the system and enhance commuter experience, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) initiated the Asset Replacement and Reliability Enhancement Programme (C801B), covering the renewal of trains, signaling, power supply, and station facilities.

Solution & Implementation
As part of this large-scale modernization, Concord was entrusted with the Installation, Testing & Commissioning (ITC) of the new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling system across the entire BPLRT line. From 2019 to 2024, our team seamlessly managed the end-to-end integration, delivering the project on schedule with precision and expertise.
Results & Value
The successful completion of the project has significantly improved system reliability, operational safety, and passenger comfort. It marks a key milestone in the transformation of Singapore’s rail infrastructure and reaffirms Concord’s expertise in delivering high-quality, complex signaling and system integration solutions that drive smarter, more sustainable urban mobility.
