The C1652AB project was a cornerstone modernization of Singapore’s busiest metro lines — the North-South & East-West Lines (NSEWL). Spanning 54 stations and 200 km of track, the program aimed to replace the legacy signaling system, renew the power supply, upgrade track circuits, sleepers, and the third rail, as well as relocate and integrate the Operations Control Centre. The central challenge lay in executing this large-scale technological renewal across a live network with zero compromise to daily passenger services.

Solution & Implementation
As a key implementation partner, Concord was responsible for the supply and installation of wayside equipment, including cables, containments, and terminations, while also supporting system testing & commissioning. From 2012 to 2019, our team ensured the precise and timely deployment of critical infrastructure, enabling a seamless transition to the new signaling system.
Results & Value
This large-scale renewal directly enhanced network efficiency and enabled higher train frequency during peak hours, significantly improving the daily commute for millions. The project stands as a testament to Concord’s proven capability in delivering complex, large-scale rail modernization projects.
