Overview

The Lower Seletar Waterworks ElectroChlorination System Enhancement & Replacement Project was commissioned by Singapore’s national water agency, Public Utilities Board (PUB). The initiative aimed to upgrade a critical component of the water treatment process at the Lower Seletar Waterworks, which has a treatment capacity of 60 million gallons per day. This upgrade formed part of PUB’s continuous efforts to enhance the reliability and safety of Singapore’s water supply network.

Solution & Implementation

Concord Corporation was responsible for the design, supply, installation, and testing & commissioning of the upgraded system. The scope of work covered the ElectroChlorination System, rectifier transformer, active harmonic filter, chiller system, local control panels, PLC and SCADA systems, low-voltage and DC power cables, cable terminations and containment, lighting and small power systems, as well as modifications to the 400V AC switchboard and 900V DC power supply system.
The project commenced in 2021 and was successfully completed in 2022.

Results & Value

The project successfully enhances the operational resilience of a vital piece of Singapore’s water treatment infrastructure. The project underscores Concord’s proven capability to deliver complex electrical and control system integrations within a live, mission-critical environment, ensuring uninterrupted and safe public water services.
