The Doha Metro is Qatar’s first metro system and one of the world’s largest single-phase metro developments. Designed as a fully automated, driverless network, it forms the backbone of the nation’s modern public transport infrastructure and supports Qatar’s long-term vision for sustainable urban mobility. At the heart of this network, the Power Distribution System (PDS) delivers a robust, redundant, and fully integrated electrical framework to ensure uninterrupted and safe metro operations under the country’s challenging climate conditions.

Solution & Implementation
Concord executed the electrical installation works for the PDS across the Green, Gold, and Blue Lines, covering 36 km of track and 22 stations. From 2017 to 2019, our team implemented a high-capacity, resilient power network to guarantee operational reliability and safety, contributing to the realization of a world-class metro system that has transformed urban mobility in Doha.
Results & Value
The successful commissioning of the PDS has helped establish the Doha Metro as a world-class transit benchmark. This project reinforces our capacity to execute complex, large-scale electrical systems for international heavy rail networks, even under the most challenging environmental conditions.
